The Great Catfish Races!

🐟🏁 Dive Into the Excitement of The Great Catfish Races! 🏆🎉

Mark your calendars for a splash of fun and competition at the heart of Downtown Paris! This Saturday, April 27th at 11 a.m., the Henry County Courthouse Lawn transforms into the thrilling arena of The Great Catfish Races. Witness as locally caught catfish glide through 15-foot, clear-plastic racing troughs, battling it out for the top spot and fantastic prizes.

📍 Location: Downtown Paris – Henry County Courthouse Lawn

This isn’t just any race; it’s a community celebration where everyone can join in! Sponsor your very own catfish and receive a colorful race t-shirt to commemorate your participation in this unique event. Plus, seize the chance to showcase your creativity by writing and submitting a fish tale to the Paris Post-Intelligencer (P-I). The most captivating tales will not only be featured in the P-I but also read aloud on race day, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.

Named in honor of the beloved long-time editor and publisher of The Paris Post-Intelligencer, the Bill Williams Catfish Races aren’t just about the thrill of the competition. They’re a meaningful gathering that benefits the REAL Hope Youth Center, making every race a victory for the community.

Contenders in each heat aren’t just racing for the finish line; they’re competing for gift certificates from local eateries, trophies, and, perhaps most coveted of all, bragging rights for an entire year. And don’t worry if you’re not keen on handling a slippery, whiskery catfish; “fish handlers” are available to race on your behalf.

With open arms and open lanes, The Great Catfish Races welcome all participants, promising there’s always room for one more entry. Whether you’re racing, sponsoring, or cheering from the sidelines, join us for a day filled with community spirit, creativity, and good old-fashioned fun. Let’s make a splash together at The Great Catfish Races! 🐟🚩
